Hi, I’m Kat — a ceramicist based in the English countryside, in the historic town of Thaxted, and the maker behind Kat Clay Studio.

My love for ceramics began with a simple search for the perfect mug — something tactile, well-made, and full of character. That pursuit eventually led me to clay, and from the very first touch, I was completely hooked.

Today, I use traditional hand-building techniques such as pinching and slab building to create small-batch, functional pieces for everyday living. Each piece is shaped slowly by hand, embracing gentle irregularities that make it truly unique.

At Kat Clay Studio, the focus is on creating pieces that bring warmth and character to everyday life — objects that become part of daily rituals, shared moments, and well-lived spaces.
